  • Charles Hartke was born in 1944 and grew up in Teutopolis on his father's farm with his four brothers and five sisters. When Charles got married in 1963, he started his own farm which eventually led him into politics where he served in the Illinois House for more than 18 years, before becoming Director of Agriculture for Governor Rod Blagojevich.
