- COMMUNICATIONS
- Story of making radio from parts bought at store in the 1920's. Favorite radio shows were Amos & Andy & Li'l Abner. Had to share headphones to listen to radio.
- FARMHOUSE
- Discussion of changes in heating the farmhouse. Went to get coal for coal-stoves with wagon. Stoves in dining room & living room. Bedrooms not heated. Kitchen had coal range, a "Copper clad." Discussion of washing clothes, usually on Monday. Bathroom put in the early 1950's. Discussion of getting electricity & fellow in Petersburg who would use electric light to turn on kerosene lamp & then turn off electric light.
