FARM WORK
Boys helped father & girls helped mother, except in busy time when corn needed shelling for horses. All farm work done by walking. Father had team of mules & 4 horses. Father was particular about keeping animals in good health & farm buildings maintained. Mentions riding in surrey. Discusses father building rail fences.
