- Bert emphatically mentions importance of one man, Mr. Sam Sorrels, in development of Farm Bureau in the area. He converted more farmers [to Farm Bureau] because he was a good, honest, Christian man. Always helped Bert, showing him his seedlings of clover & alfalfa. Bert goes on to describe how Sorrels was instrumental in getting sweet clover grown in area by liming the ground.
