Describes game licensing system that is through the state. For example, needed migratory bird permit when had ducks and geese & have need disease permits He has to "answer to a lot more bureaucracy than just livestock breeders". State owns deer. Lots of gray areas in the law. Notes it is difficult to move or import deer or pheasants in and out of state. Buffalo are considered like cattle in Illinois so they are under the Department of Agriculture.
URBANIZATION
Urban sprawl is engulfing them, been on this farm for 30 years, little farm is becoming an island. A lot of people moved to this area for the rural aspect. Some are believe the farm is a health hazard. Others have made accusations about animal welfare Had to get attorney. Discusses problems with zoning. Farm was grandfathered into zoning regulations. County board voted in favor of Sullivan farm. Gives stories of neighbor problems.
