- LIVESTOCK CARE
- Foamy bloat is different. Feed soap to cows to dissipate the foam. Then started using detergent as a preventative. Detergent lowered the butterfat levels. Similar situation now with use of antibiotics everyday in feed instead of as a remedy.
- MILK
- lower butterfat levels. Purebreds not perform better than grade cows. Laws on pasteurization in 1948 left raw milk behind. Homogenization smashed fat globules and distributes them throughout the milk. Milk sitting out in the sun when delivered got damage to taste from the sun. Used paper cartons and amber bottles.
