EDUCATION
Had intentions on coming back to the farm after graduating. Took many science and math courses in high school. Valedictorian of his class. Parents supportive; teachers encouraged him to pursue his interest in farming. Went to UIUC for college. Started in College of Agriculture, Animal Sciences. Got scholarship for UIUC. Interested in production side, not medicine. Taking economic and nutritional courses. Got his B.S. in 1987, Masters in 1989.
NON-FARM WORK
Moved to St. Louis for first job with Doane Marketing Research, a telemarketing firm that talks to farmers and asks survey questions. Explains how the process works.
