FARM ORGANIZATIONS
Created to help improve genetics and promote the pork and product. Became president of the Illinois Pork Producers in 1970. A year later he was re-elected by one vote. Served as president for three years. He and a few others helped put up money to get Chuck Bloomberg a job as Executive Officer of the Illinois Pork Producers. Had volunteers but needed more money, so they started the Nickel for Profit campaign. Went around to get a nickel from farmers. In 1970, went national, state to state, to raise money. There is a mandatory check off in place now.
