- Notes that owner came to Mr. Hubbard to verify bids made by the white supervisor. Believes Mr. Sankey tried to trick him into coming back to work so he would lose his social security. Does not believe street inspectors do much work. Never been a black inspector. Story about superintendant not allowing workers to put equipment away & Mr. Hubbard protecting Mr. Sankey's equipment, but getting criticized for it. Would not take truck home at night because he did not have insurance & knew Mr. Sankey wouldn't pay if something happened.
