NON-FARM WORK
Continuation of discussion of mine work after mine war strike. After strike miners came from south to mine coal, some local miners did not return to mines. Some local miners did not appreciate out of town miners coming in after strike. Tried to convince locals to go back to work, but many refused. Notes considerations in going back to work. Interviewer tries to understand "politics" of mine supervisor, mine bosses, pit committeemen, etc. Coal company would offer jobs to friends of committeemen for support in certain matters. Mr. Ridley got many of his relatives jobs in mines.
