Orion Samuelson has been broadcasting for almost 50 years about agriculture and is arguably the most recognizable voice of agriculture in the United States. He is writing a book about his experience with WGN radio. Talks about the Tribune Tower, which began to be built in 1925. Its lobby is a national historical landmark and was largely influenced by Colonel McCormick the publisher of the Tribune. Talks about old programs and people he worked with.
FAMILY BACKGROUND
Talks about how he was named for his grandfathers who came from Norway and settled in Wisconsin. Both grandfathers came from Norway in the 1860s and 1880s. Orion leads tours back to Norway. Wisconsin has similar hills and streams as Norway.
