CHANGES IN FARMING METHODS
Fields became larger through time. Working more land requires larger machinery. Farm Equipment size change from 2 to 8 bottom plow which required space to turn around necessitating elimination of most fences. Also took fences up because no more 4 yr rotation & many farmers got out of raising livestock. No livestock meant no more oats grown. Farmers focused on just grain farming.
