CHILDHOOD EDUCATION
Tells a story about a school inspector who caught him unable to answer her question, and then again, months late, in another school, she caught him again. He always had women teachers, never men. Some were good, others bad or okay. Describes the types of teachers he had -- experienced and new, good and bad, strict and without control, interesting and slow. When farm families moved it was always in March, when exams were held. In White Oak School, Miss Kohrman taught well, but slow, so the students had to go Saturdays and stay late to catch up with the curriculum.
