- FOOD & MEALS
- Grew sage, spearmint, peppermint, and parsley in the garden. Parsley was unruly. Tells story about garnishing chicken at Sunday school food sale.
- GARDEN
- Had a Christmas cactus and a Thanksgiving cactus, but neither blooms. Had violets, but they were tiring. They are selling the begonias and gloxinias because they are moving. Women always took care of the garden.
- FOOD & MEALS
- They eat eggs instead of meat because meat is too expensive. Describes cooking green beans.
