- FAMILY BACKGROUND
- Husband's family lived in Dallas County, MO. Had other relatives in Pulaski County. Grandfather participated in Gold Rush and made money, gave some gold pieces to cousins. Had a dressmaker in St. Louis make dresses for the girls after mother died. Lived about 100 miles southwest of St. Louis, near Springfield, MO. Sister lived in Kansas, brother worked in a traction company in Springfield, MO, then moved to Wichita, KS, with the superintendent when workers went on strike. Has relatives call her to see family genealogy and photos.
- WOMEN'S WORK
- Grandmother would cut dress patterns for people. Got high prize for a sewing competition at Lebanon in 4th grade, and was awarded a dollar. Sister was upset, so father gave her a dollar too. Father would give daughters a nickel a piece if the girls visited him in the courthouse at noon.

- Describes more family photos featuring her parents. Describes her mother's clothes. Thinks father was probably named after President Harrison.
