Became involved in cooperative work through the Sunday school organizations and was elected state chairman of children's work for the Illinois Council of Religious Education. Attended interdenominational conferences and created the department of children's work with the Disciples of Christ Christian Church, and was chairman of that for 9 years. Was secretary of the Illinois Council of Churches and president of the Illinois Council of Church Women. Represented her church at University Farm and Home Week. Considers the rural church a necessity in rural communities. Held seminars through the University of Illinois on topics such as youth. Met world Christian leaders. Is thankful for her parents and grandparents, for the privilege of working with so many people, her own restlessness, and her husband of 64 years.
