TRANSPORTATION
About 1892, Walter and his older brother rode ponies to school. If it rained, they could stop at cousins' house for the night. When the two girls started school, the family bought a wagon, a topless trap drawn by one horse. They also picked up a neighbor girl and rode that to school.
