In 1973, went to University of Missouri as head of Agronomy. Hired help in research. By 1978, did more administration. Left in 1980. Administrators find that they are in the business to organizing people to be successful, rather than about oneself. Praise your faculty to create an environment of growth. Their success is your success. Study leaves in 1968 and 1972. 1976 to Indonesia, & New Zealand. Been to 60-70 countries. Describes Java's differences. Job in Indonesia was helping them with soil on other islands. Trying to transmigrate people to smaller islands because of crowding. Volcanic soils more fertile and new. Other islands had older soils.
