- FAMILY BACKGROUND
- Sketch of Uncle David McMurray's life. Describes the life events of her uncle; helpful and generous. Narrates events and list relatives. He took her for outings in town.
- HOGS
- Cholera hit her 200 pigs. Found a dead hog that had been dumped in her field. She had to start over, then two years later bad cholera serum from the vet killed or stunted their growth. Advised too late to call in the state for help.
- FARM BUSINESS
- After losses, got a loan from Connecticut General. Hired a farm manager, George Engles from local bank. Had two farms, & one tenant. Wanted to restart pig business. Turned a profit after three years. Hired help with pigs.
