- FARM ORGANIZATIONS
- Clarification that Litchfield Creamery was more important in development of dairy business in area than Pevely Dairy. Mentions Mr. Pevely was a hard man to deal with. Dairy farmer went to Litchfield Creamery after they got the proper equipment. (addenda item# 91, see Aikman 8, Clip# 803)
- TRANSPORTATION
- Discussion of competition between railroad & interurban (ITS) for passenger business. Interurban was electric & was open. Railroad eventually discounted tickets & out-competed ITS. Mr. McKinley built ITS from St. Louis to Litchfield, to Hillsboro, to Springfield. ITS also carried freight, but couldn't compete with railroad. Chautauqua near Raymond relied on Interurban that ran every 5 minutes & ticket was $0.35. (addenda item# 92, see Aikman 8, Clip# 803)
- RECOLLECTIONS
