AGRICULTURAL ACTIVITIES: First State Fair he went to was in 1898. Bert was hired help at this time. Recalls fireworks, balloons, stage shows, etc. Bert went to State Fair until he couldn't get tickets to horse races which were sold in Springfield before fair.
