- Description of games called "wolf & sheep" & "shimmy", "spin-the-plate", apple-bobbing. Skating in the winter on farm ponds. Mentions ice-storm in 1918 that enabled skating to Williamsville overland. Kept pretty close over the years. Mentions deaths of older sisters & younger brother. Most Christmas gifts purchased, some handmade. Gifts purchased in Springfield, some made. Kids went to Springfield about 1/month, but mother went in weekly if she had produce to sell.

- Had picnics for 4th of July & "Decoration Day." Games played. Thanksgiving at Winfreds.
