- Discussion of government Soil Bank & policy to pay farmers not to plant, its benefits. Story of foreign company (Scully) no longer not planting 25% of its land in IL.

- All of Winfred's corn is stored at "grain-bank" (the elevator) & farmer can get his at anytime.
- DAIRY
- Mentions how he got into dairy-business as a way to make some money (diversify). Had milk stand at corner that neighbors cooperated helped build & all sold milk there. Then started shipping in milk hauler. Description of milk refrigerator. At first milked by hand, later had a milking machine that Winfred did not like because he & Don were faster than the machine.
