- Retired in 1967. "I haven't retired; I just slowed down."
- REFLECTIONS
- Attitude towards investigation of assassination of Senator Robert Kennedy. Mentions Lee Harvey Oswald & Sirhan. Attitude towards those who disrespect President & flag. Morale is so low. "Dignity is a forgotten word." Reflections of Watergate. Believes President Nixon was ill-advised. Nixon was well-thought of throughout the world. Recalls Nixon's resignation, which took guts.
- LAND
- Notes pride in his farm & land. Inherited some land from mother. Good story about being in hospital & coming home & wanting to go out to look at crops, but nurse wouldn't allow it. Winfred took tractor anyway to look at crops. Land gives you a secure feeling.
