A certain medicine called calomel is discussed. Mercury was the major ingredient to this medicine used as a laxative. Bert notes that you had to be careful how much you took because it would sometimes eat holes in the flesh around the mouth. Bert goes on to give another name for this medicine, "Blue-Mass", which was found in most farmhouses. Later he also discusses castor-oil, arnica, & camphor.
