- Bert mentions a snowstorm that apparently kept farmers from going to town for groceries. Neighbor's attempt to go to town for much needed groceries wore out his horse-team, so he came to Bert to use his team. Describes this trip to town through snowdrifts & picking up other neighbors along the way. He goes on to discuss later unsuccessful attempts to clear road of snow with a road-grader.
