- Bert discusses the last wooden roller used in the area & its replacement by the iron-roller. He notes that disking & large gang plows largely eliminated need for rollers. Bert goes on to describe the last time he used an iron-roller pulled by horses following a tractor (driven by his neighbor) to break up land that had become too dry to plow.
