- Mr. Herndon recalls the area called Glenwood Park on South Fork where a big picnic was held. You could take steamboat rides at this picnic. Recalls the blacksmith, Mr. Keys. Childhood friend of his talked of taking steamboat rides. Steamboat was very small. Steamboat named after girl in a novel. Story of all boys having pocket knives & consequently trees in city marked up.
