- Don discusses prices of corn & hog production. Started raising hogs in 1937, just one year after drought of 1936, so price of feed was high. Took a chance and made some money raising hogs. Bought hogs from his father who thought they were "money losers." Waited to start raising hogs until May when grass was up so he did not have to buy as much feed.
