Insull Company bought coal mines, built power plants, & planned to supply power to Chicago. Gives detailed account of how steam turbines were used to operate generators. Needed water for cooling, converting water into steam. Happened around 1910. Mentions dams for power plants sometimes caused flooding of surrounding area. No industry moved in to 'model town.'
