- First job was at John Deere, drafting in bad work conditions. Good experience. Time of buying lots of farm equipment. Companies invested in engineering. Had offers from IH, and others. Worked on balers, wanted one similar to the competition. He made drawings of the entire machine. Then they would make a test model. Explains the long design process.
