- Liked the independence in farming. Speaks of spirituality. He is the last generation of his family on the farm. He will have to liquidate it in some way. Speculates on future of farming. Other countries are rising. Production agriculture moving to other countries. Here in US, there will be very large farms for efficiency. Example, a $250,000 combine runs one month a year. Market will get rid of many small farms in five years. Next larger ones will be bought out. In fifteen years, start to see migration of farming operations to other countries for economic reasons. It is too expensive here. Global market seen in grocery store - vegetable section.
