- Says she is trying to find resistant genes. Soybeans originally came from China and Australia. Says glycine tomentella and soja will help with the creating resistant genes for our species of soybean.

Future of the family farm depends on learning and understanding sequences of traits in soybeans, technologies like herbicide resistance, and understanding what the genes do. Says smaller farms are slowly disappearing, which means fewer farmers but still lots of farmland.
