- FAMILY BACKGROUND
- Born in Stanford, CT in 1959. Grew up in New York. Mother worked in New York City and father ran a manufacturing facility. Peter knew nothing about agriculture growing up until his father retired and moved to a farm in Western New Jersey when he was 17. Mentions his stepfather, Benioff, is of Lithuanian decent. His grandfather moved from the Jewish ghettos to Delaware to farm. The farm he grew up on was a hobby farm, not very big, 50 acre farm. Was dairy but main farm burned in 1958. Small pond, rolling ground, many small fields.
- EDUCATION
- In school, thought he'd become a lawyer. Went to college in OH. Had a chance to farm in Norway. Majored in Political Science, graduated in 1981. Graduated from Ohio State in 1983.
