- FARM BUSINESS
- Priority is to build a new market building. Sees future in local suppliers. As Wal-Mart's go in, will have to compete by evolving. Then want expand restaurant into banqueting. Flexible after that. Wholesale market is volatile. Pick-your-own is predictable and stable, but depends on weather. Sales are three weekends (late September through October). If diversified, lower risk.
- FAMILY FARM
- Seasonally have about 300 staff. Five family members are on salary. Dad is handing off responsibilities toward retirement. Jim does production agriculture (mowing, trimming, harvesting). Chris is President; Angie is VP Retail; sister is marketing.
