FARM BUSINESS
Priority is to build a new market building. Sees future in local suppliers. As Wal-Mart's go in, will have to compete by evolving. Then want expand restaurant into banqueting. Flexible after that. Wholesale market is volatile. Pick-your-own is predictable and stable, but depends on weather. Sales are three weekends (late September through October). If diversified, lower risk.
FAMILY FARM
Seasonally have about 300 staff. Five family members are on salary. Dad is handing off responsibilities toward retirement. Jim does production agriculture (mowing, trimming, harvesting). Chris is President; Angie is VP Retail; sister is marketing.
