- FARM BUREAU
- Thinks Farm Bureau staff is still dedicated, but other things have changed. Thinks greed is too important to too many. Elected officials work for themselves.
- FARM BUSINESS
- Recently, media report that food prices are high because of ethanol diversion of grain. Exposed that Nestle, Sunkist, and other food companies put together this fiction to protect their profits. Castigating producers is not right.
- FOOD & MEALS
- First answer is that farmers are not aware of how much food is imported. Developed grain regulations. Meat inspectors, state and USDA inspect all meat consumed. But, do not have inspections for imported foods. Son joined the Illinois Ag Leadership Foundation. Went to South America. Said that they do not have standards on fresh food. So Steele started a family boycott of South American food purchases. Farmers will be fewer. No farmer will have a competitive market unless monopolies are stopped.
