- Life on a farm in Illinois isn't too different from New York. New York is more "country," where as in Illinois they are closer to the big city and everything that comes with the city. There are more people to educate. When international visitors come into O'Hare International Airport they can stop by the farm. Upstate New York is ranked highly in milk production, but Illinois is ranked highly in grain production.
