- Wisconsin became the place for agriculture broadcasting because of the dairy connection and the men most involved with the media. They understood the importance of agriculture. WGN was a clear channel and didn't just reach Chicago. They could reach a large number of farmers. While working in Green Bay, Norm Craft of WGN resigned to work on President Kennedy's campaign. Orion's name was put in the ring by two different people, though he didn't think he was ready for it. He was reluctant to change but ultimately decided that he'd spend five years with WGN and then move back. That wasn't how things turned out.
