NEIGHBORS
Excellent anecdote about a nearby young farmer in earlier years. Clausen shared equipment with him willingly, the young farmer turned into a Young Tiger, trying to maximize profits, less appreciative of Clausen's assistance. The young farmer wanted to rent the land that Clausen rented, upped the price. Young Tiger was less polite, less respectful with Clausen's equipment. This young farmer got the "Young Tiger Syndrome." Clausen stopped lending to him. Neighbors used to help neighbors, but no more. Profit was king. Shift occurred in the late 1960s, market boomed in the 1970s. Camaraderie is lost today, trust is gone.
