- ORCHARDS
- Varieties; Harvesting
- HARVESTING
- Peaches, by nature, overproduce, only 10% of bloom is needed for a full crop. They try to get 250-350 peaches per tree. which is 2.5-3.5 bushels a tree. They reduce the crop by going through three times
- FARMING METHODS
- Peaches are self pollinating. Weather is a big role in success of pollination. Warm and sunny is better than cool, cloudy and wet. Peaches are given nitrogen every year. They also try to stop weeds and grass from growing under tree to prevent competition. Most expensive part of peaches is labor. Peaches are hand pruned, hand thinned, and hand harvested so they are shaped right, thinned right and harvested right.
