CHILDHOOD EDUCATION
Describes attending school in Bath, where there were 42 students in the one-room school. Some big boys picked on the little ones, but others came to the rescue. Attended Bowman's School in Bath from age nine. Had about 25 students in the one room.
FAMILY
Mother died. Eldest daughter quit school to care for family for several years, then got married.
