- Mother-in-law helped with thresher dinners

- Husband had only one hired man for corn shucking. Might have had corn shellers. Kept some corn to feed hogs, cows, and horses. Did not use hybrid seed. Fertilizer was from barnyard and they used a manure-spreader.
- GARDEN
- Story of husband "ruining" strawberry bed with a harrow. He really just took out old plants & spread manure on patch. Story about husband & Ruth picking strawberries & their young son coming out to the strawberry field during picking to find his parents.
