- CROPS
- Bert mentions father taking load of wheat to O.K. Mill & getting a load of flour that would last the winter. Mill later used as residence. Mentions a big flour mill in Litchfield that sent flour all over the world. Mill exploded. This mill shipped shiploads of flour to England. Never knew of a wheat other than Fulse wheat as a boy. Red Fulse wheat made splendid bread.
- ACTIVITIES
- Bert mentions Buffalo Bill's show & Barnum & Bailey. Liked Buffalo Bill shows because of horsemanship & riding tricks. As a kid they would try trick when they went home. Mentions how baseball replaced townball. Raymond, Litchfield, & bigger towns all had baseball teams. Mentions the townball rubber-ball again. It bounced high & was hard as iron.

- Recalls nutty salesman of threshing machine in Virden. Harvest
