COLLEGE EDUCATION
Continues to describe her life at the U. of Illinois in the 1910'S. Signed up for music and home economics courses first, but could not read music and the home economics was so basic, it bored her. She actually volunteered to show the teacher how to bone a chicken. So she changed to Math (major) and chemistry (minor). Made friends among the five thousand students.
TRAVEL
Talks about driving to South Dakota in her Cadillac at age eighty-four. Drove through a blizzard.
COLLEGE EDUCATION
Back on education, talks about flunking an English course and retaking it with another professor. There was no counseling then; you decided what courses you wanted to take. Describes how she took dancing lessons in town and bought a formal. Strict parents accepted that she would dance in college. She had three boyfriends in college. Loved to dance.
