- COURTSHIP
- Described courtship. Mr. Honey took her to Lilly Pond with a revolver to target shoot - tried to teach her, but her bullet ricocheted off a board and a tree and came back and hit her. That was the end of lesson. He was shy. He proposed casually. Married after school was out.
- FAMILY
- Lived with his parents for two years till a house was vacant in West Liberty. Had two children 15 months apart. Mentions later honeymoon. She did not get to Niagara Falls until after his death when she visited child.
- FAMILY FARM
- He worked for a cold storage company. Bought apples from New York. Had a small farm father gave him & decided to run it. Started a dairy farm with Jersey cows (twelve), milking by hand. Had separator and sold cream. Milk cooled in watering trough. She churned butter& describes accident. Vegetable garden. Stored potatoes, canned beans.
- FARMHOUSE
- Farm house had four rooms; two bedrooms, living, dining/kitchen. No electricity, just lamps. A cistern pumped water to sink. Took baths in tub and hauled water. No indoor toilet till she moved out and rented it.
