- REFLECTIONS
- A person did what needed to be done. Freedom to do as you please is the satisfaction of farming. No interest in other professions. Neighbors or hired help can take care of livestock when you go on vacation.
- FAMILY ACTIVITIES
- Did not have lights for first 5 yrs of marriage. Listened to radio, a Natwater-Canton whose batteries had to be taken to town to charge. Went to bed early because you worked harder.
- FARM WORK
- Got up early to do work and retired early because worked hard. Some seasons had longer days than others. Today's farmers can work into the evening because machinery doesn't tire like horses. Farmers do more mechanical work and less physical work.
- REFLECTIONS
- Bud discusses his earlier career goals, but present love of farming. He would not want to do anything else or be anywhere else.
