- CHILDHOOD EDUCATION
- Weren't many discipline problems. Depends on the teacher. More independence then as teacher taught different groups. Boys dug a hole and sailed boats. Also climbed young hickory trees that bent over when you climbed up. Mentions ball games & play equipment. Biking on the weekends. Chores by gender, but one sister liked horses, sulkies, field work. High school was in Atlanta; 50 started, 25 graduated. Some went off to war in 1942.
