- CHILDHOOD WORK
- Children did yard work like mowing, snow-shoveling. Father had system of rewards based on difficulty of work and hours. Had adding machine and figured hours ($.35 - .50/hour rate) allowance. Michael liked the mechanical jobs. Spent his money on fishing equipment, camping, radios.

- Attended private school with relatives and family groups.

- As a child, went to Catholic church, catechism classes, was important but not social.
