- EDUCATION
- Describes rural schools. They lack advantages of city schools. Found forty old books from a one room school and thinks they were good books. Depends on the quality of the teacher, you could get a good education in a rural school.
- FAMILY BACKGROUND
- Her father studied what he wanted and did not pass all his exams. Did okay at Northwestern. Worked in France after WWI, where he met his wife. Senior year at Beloit College, graduated in chemistry at top of class.
- NON-FARM WORK
- Changes in colleges. Sangamon State part of University of Illinois. Changes in technology have caused changes in classrooms. Talks about a grandchild.
