- BACKGROUND
- Jose was born in Guanajuato, Mexico June 20, 1963. Six years of schooling. First came to the US around 1986. First went to North Carolina, found work for a few months picking tobacco, cucumbers, and sweet potatoes. Started working at the Eckart's in 1994. He spends most of his time in Illinois. Comes to Illinois around March or April, returns around November.
- HEALTH
- When he feels sick he returns to Mexico to see a doctor because it is hard for American doctors to understand him.
- FAMILY
- He is married, but wife stays in Mexico. Had four kids, two are married. He wants the younger ones to stay in school in Mexico. Wants to retire to Mexico. His wife understands that he is working hard. In Mexico he can only get paid about ten dollars a day, as opposed to that much per hour n the US.
- HIRED HELP
- He doesn't like it when the weather is bad and he can't work. Besides that, he enjoys his job.
